The Simnel Cake which is a traditional Easter Cake is made with our new fruit cake recipe. It is a lighter mix than our Rich Fruit Cake but as always we use the finest ingredients and it is equally as scrumptious. It is baked with a layer of marzipan in the centre and then when cooled, glazed with apricot jam, a thick layer of toasted marzipan and decorated with eggs, Easter chicks or bunnies, flowers and ribbons.
We are very proud as our Simnel Cake won Gold at The Taste of The West awards 2014.
This cake is available from mid February until Easter and can be made any size from 4”to 12” depending on your requirements.
